While we were checking things off the bucket list, our drive north along the California coast ultimately led us to Santa Barbara. Steeped in history and beauty, this lovely town captivated us for not one, but two days! In fact, we might have stayed longer but we had more things to accomplish before going home.
Nestled between the mountains and the sea, Santa Barbara has all the wiles and charms of a siren…she beckons you with something new at every turn. There is the mission, a zoo, a maritime museum, dozens of fabulous restaurants and hundreds of shops, not to mention many wonderful hotels and beaches. I’m not one who enjoys shopping, so I was able to turn a blind eye to all the shops in “old town,” but State Street is a pedestrian’s paradise. This is surely a spot I would love to visit again and again!
