Ever thought of sailing around the British Virgin Islands? We will be there next spring and YOU could be joining us! Read the following and let us know if you’re interested!
Ahoy! This spring, SAILSOUTHERNCAL goes to the British Virgin Islands! One boat is already full, and we are getting close to having enough for a second boat!
We’ll start our journey by arriving on April 30th and meeting in Tortola at the hotel by our boat. We’ll hang out by the pool, have an island drink and get used to island time!
May 1st- in the morning, the skippers will attend their meeting while some or all of the rest of us head out to provision. We’ll all meet back at the boats, load up and take off for and afternoon sail, ending at Norman Island. At the Bight, we’ll have dinner either on floating Willy T’s or ashore at Pirate’s Bight.
May 2nd- Now that we’re all settled in to life aboard, we’ll dinghy over to the Caves for some snorkeling and then sail around, ending the day at Cooper Island. Here we can go ashore for a great dinner at the Cooper Island Beach Club.
May 3rd- Today we’ll sail up to Virgin Gorda early enough to pick up a mooring at the Baths. We can explore the huge boulders and pools and have lunch at Poor Man’s Bar at the top of the Baths. Later we’ll sail over to Marina Cay or Trellis Bay. We can either have dinner ashore or have a BBQ on the boat.
May 4th- Today we sail up to North Sound, Virgin Gorda for snorkeling at the Dogs or Mountain Point. We can either sail to the Bitter End or Leverick Bay for a good dinner, music and stocking up on provisions.
May 5th- This morning we can shop on shore, dinghy around for good snorkeling, or sail to Monkey Point on Guana Island for lunch. Then we can cruise down to Jost Van Dyke where we can swim ashore to the famous Soggy Dollar Bar.
May 6th- We’ll sail today with stops at Sandy Cay, the most picturesque spot in the BVIs, and end at Cane Garden Bay for a fun night on the beach, exploring the restaurants and bars.
May 7th- Over to Soper’s Hole or wherever the wind takes us. If anyone is leaving early on the next day, we’ll sail back to base and spend the night exploring Road Town.
May 8th- If we didn’t get there the night before, we head back to charter base this morning, check in the hotel (or fly home). Tonight we’ll all have our last dinner on shore, for tomorrow we will all be back home, wishing we could do it all over!
**Note these dates are approximate. We’ll firm them up once we have commitment from enough people.
Please leave a comment if want to come, and we’ll send you more details!
