Cheeseburger in Paradise!

I like mine with lettuce and tomatoes…Heinz 57, and french-fried potatoes!

What is it?  It’s a Cheeseburger in Paradise!  When we sail the Leeward Islands in May, one of our stops will be Le Select on Saint Barthelemy…it’s the home of the famous sensuous treat.

Here’s a tidbit about the restaurant and its connection to Jimmy Buffet:  the bar was opened in 1949 by a fisherman named Marius Stakelborough when he realized that his fishing career wasn’t providing the lifestyle he wanted for his family.  In the late 70s Stakelborough struck a deal with Jimmy Buffet- if the restaurant could use the name “Cheeseburger in Paradise,” Jimmy would get free food (for life!) at Le Select.

Since then, Jimmy has played concerts for the restaurant’s 50th and 60th anniversaries!  (1999 and 2009).

Wish you could share a cheeseburger in paradise with me…Save your pennies and come along NEXT year…or sailsoutherncal with us this summer!

Leeward Islands Trip – FULL!

We’re going to St. Martin, St. Barth’s and Anguilla…and I’m sorry to say, YOU won’t be with us!  The trip is now completely full with over 20 people in the flotilla!   Although the trip isn’t until later this spring, we’ll be posting about it between now and then as we get more excited (can I BE more excited?!) about the trip.  I’ll reflect back on last year’s BVI trip, and post new pictures from the Leeward Islands with information that will make you wish you had signed up in time to come along.  Why?  Because I want YOU there on the NEXT trip we take!

For a shorter, easier-on-the-budget trip, Contact Captain Jon at  for information and details on how YOU can sail Southern California!
