Quality of life is not measured by wealth or possessions. It’s about having a sense of pride in everything you do. It means taking responsibility for your actions and making each and every day count. You might live to be a hundred without achieving a quality of life. When it’s all said and done, I want to be remembered for some positive influence, not by how many years I lived and did nothing. This is what MLK meant when he said “the quality, not the longevity, of one’s life is what is important.”

Oyster Pond and Beyond
This photo was taken in the Leeward Islands last May. We had just completed a week-long sail around St. Martin and St. Barths and had spent our last night at Captain Oliver’s Resort on Oyster Pond. I walked down to their beach and snapped this shot of the swimming area, the steps/dock and the raft which was inviting me to swim to it.
Beyond, however, was the open ocean and the tiny island of Molly Baday, raising a hundred feet off the sea about two miles southeast of the opening to Oyster Pond. Fortuitously I lined up the dock and the raft to point you to beyond…
